Hey there, I’m Chelsea!

I currently live in Nevada with my soulmate of a husband and our two beautiful children. Art has always been a huge part of my life, my stress relief, my happy place. I love experimenting with different mediums, both physical and digital, but tend to gravitate most to watercolor. My favorite style of art is impressionism, which tries to capture the emotion of a piece through color and movement rather than what it actually looks like in real life. I find myself getting bored while painting a picture that’s too realistic. Instead I use heavy brush strokes and rough lines to portray what I see. I find the imperfection to be beautiful and captivating.

I enjoy creating beautiful custom portraits that can be treasured as a family heirloom for years to come. Inspired by portraits I did of each of my own two children to hang in their rooms, they turned out so adorable that I just needed to make more! Childhood is so fleeting, I try to capture those precious moments in the most beautiful and unique way I know how, through illustrations.

Much of my inspiration comes from observing nature and learning from it. Florals tend to capture my attention the most and I find myself doodling them over and over again, though I also have a fondness for landscapes. I have a firm belief that nature is the healing balm for a troubled heart. I believe that nature calms the soul and brings us closer to God. And that is my goal when making art, to capture some of that peace from nature, and bring it into our homes.
